Maria and Sean, Ned was a very special person in my life. He was a lifelong mentor who led by example and taught me so much. His encyclopedic knowledge of juvenile justice never ceased to amaze me. He was a relentless advocate for young people who couldn't fight for themselves. From Ned, I learned how to be an advocate, and to step up and fight for things that seem unattainable when the cause is just. His passion for doing the right thing was deep and rare, and I admired him greatly. You have my heartfelt condolences.
