GARGANO, Lucia R. (Nigro) On August 19, 2017 of Winchester. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Gargano. Loving mother of Diane & her husband John Collins of Hopkinton & Gina Gargano of Winchester. Adored Grandmother of Matthew Collins of Boston. Much loved Sister-in-law of Jean Nigro, Sister of the late Emily Bartolomucci, Evelyn Nigro, Helen Mirarchi, Virginia Nigro, Warren, Bobby & Arthur Nigro. Dear Sister-in-law of Joyce and the late Tony Gargano and El and Ed Kolycheck. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and good friends. After graduating from Revere High School, she worked at Shawmut Bank in Boston and was one of the first women to enter their management training program becoming their first woman Assistant Branch Manager. Upon starting her family, she left the bank to focus on Sam and the girls. She was involved in many volunteer activities at church, St. Elizabeth's Hospital and the girls' schools. Friends and family looked to her for wise counsel and with her kind heart she helped all in need especially her dear Mother-in-Law "Bea" and sister "Gin". Enjoyed travel, tennis, spending time with family and friends and cooking large Italian meals for the enjoyment of all. A funeral will be held from the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER on Friday August 25th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Eulalia's Church, Winchester at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 thru 8pm. Interment Wildwood Cemetery Winchester.
