Obituary for Barbara A Newhall
NEWHALL, Barbara A. of Winchester passed away peacefully at her home on
April 18, 2019. Beloved daughter of the late Agnes V. (Dunne) and John J. Newhall. Loving sister of Jack Newhall and his wife Patricia of Winchester. Cherished aunt of Kristyn Newhall and her husband Jeffrey Swanson of Somerville and John Newhall and his wife Taylor of Hingham. Dear great aunt of Connor, Jack, Brooks, and Tyler.
Barbara attended St. Mary's School through 8th grade and graduated from Winchester
High School in 1964. During these years, Barbara dedicated much of her time to the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Barbara attended Salem State College while also working at McCormack's Apothecary in Winchester. She later worked for the Telephone Company and became actively involved with the Special Olympics, which she continued throughout her adult life. Barbara also volunteered for the B.A.A. / Boston Marathon for over 30 years. In addition to all of her volunteering, she loved traveling with her friends. Barbara will be remembered as a kind and generous person who touched the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Lane Funeral home on Thursday, April 25th from
3-7 pm. A funeral from the Lane Funeral Home on Friday, April 26th at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Church, 158 Washington Street, Winchester at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
