Obituary for Mary E "Betty" Kimball (O'Brien)

Kimball, Mary Elizabeth “Betty”, 85, passed away at the loving home of her daughter, Lee, on April 3rd, 2019. Betty was the beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Kimball. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 26, 2007. Born April 20th, 1934, Betty was the daughter of the late John W., “Jack” and Catherine “Kay” O’Brien of 34 Clark Street. Betty attended St Mary’s School through 8th grade and graduated from Winchester High School in 1952. Betty worked for the Telephone Company, the Winchester School District and The Bank of Boston in their library department where she retired after 20 years of service.

In addition to her late husband, Betty is survived by her loving children, Beth Ann Kimball of York, PA., Brian Kimball of Portland, OR and Lee (Kimball) of Wakefield and her husband, Francis Kavanagh, 5 grandchildren, Tom Kimball and his wife, Perry, Amanda (Kimball) Clere and her husband, James Clere, Aubrey Kimball, Molly Kavanagh and Leo Kavanagh, and 2 great-grandchildren, William and Katie Clere. Betty was also a loving sister to the late John “Pat” O’Brien and his wife, Margaret and Richard “Richie” O’Brien and his wife, Ann. Betty is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St (Rte. 38), Winchester on Monday, April 22nd from 9:30 – 10:30 am with a funeral mass to be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church at 11:00 am. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester. For online condolences, please visit www.lanefuneral.com.
