The Hoadley Family

Our whole family was saddened by the news of Ed's passing. Jeff, who was coached in football by Ed for four years, was especially impacted. We remember Jocko teaching Jeff how to use the brakes on his new bicycle, instead of crashing into the barn to stop. We remember a roofing job on the Serieka house, a job executed in the middle of the night. We have many interesting and funny recollections of neighborhood gatherings on West Parish Road in Concord. Jocko was a great friend to us all. We mourn his passing.

I was a student of Mr. Serieka, when he taught at Concord High School, Concord, NH, I graduated in the class of 1970 when I had Mr. Serieka for World History. He was always be nice to me and very respectful. I had no idea that he was a professional football player. I wish I had known him more, as i love college football with Michigan Wolverines as my favorite. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and let you know how much I respected him and wish i had more teachers like him.

I was greatly saddened to learn of the passing of a former colleague and trusted friend. "Easy Ed" was a beloved teacher and coach here in Concord, NH and he has been missed since his retirement and move to another state. Coach Serieka loved his classroom students and his football players and they loved him back. We shared many memories of our class room adventures and our bond was our mutual love for teaching and working with teenagers. I really got to know and appreciate Ed when we worked for local media outlets here in Concord. Ed was a football color man for a local TV station and I enjoyed the same position for a local radio station. We would share rides to our out of town assignments and we would share our teaching and coaching exploits on those trips. Ed loved his family and friends and and was the perfect role model for his students. They looked up to him so much. My heart aches so much today and I want his family to know there are people here who will always remember the wonderful gentleman and community leader that was Ed Serieka. My prayers will be with you always. Rest in peace Coach as you cross the goal line into God's end zone! With love and respect, Harvey Smith

Thinking of Jocko's family and sending thoughts and prayers. He and my husband Bob shared a few weeks at the same daycare and it was always a great start in the morning to see his wonderful smile and shake hands. May he rest in peace, God Bless. Bob (aka Fuzzy) and Sue Thompson
