Obituary for Evelyn V. Penta (Sarno)

PENTA, Evelyn V. (Sarno) of Burlington formerly of Winchester, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Michael W. Penta. Loving mother of Maria Drown and her husband Stephen of Bonita Springs, FL. Cherished sister of Esther DeMartin and her husband Tom of Hyannis and the late Gloria Zagami, Joseph Sarno and Frank Sarno. Devoted aunt of Pamela Jean Connor and many nieces and nephews. Survived by her loving sister in law Petrina Ruma and the late Antoinette, Margaret, Florence, Henrietta, Melina Penta, Camille Figucia, and Anne Noonan. A funeral will be held from the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER on Tuesday November 20th at 10am. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Church Winchester at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery Winchester. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 800 West Cummings Pk., Ste. 3100, Woburn MA 01801. Born in Somerville, MA, graduated from Somerville High School and Fisher Secretarial School in Somerville. Employed at the Internal Revenue Service for 13 years and was the Secretary to the Director of Public Works, Winchester MA for over 20 years.
