Allison & Bill King
Rob, Griffin and Colby, please accept our saddest condolences.
To Griffin and Colby, we hope that hearing how your mom's friends felt about her might be comforting, maybe not now but perhaps when you get older. You already know all of this anyway, but it cannot be repeated too much:
Your mom was AWESOME! We met her in San Francisco circa 1997, this was even before she met your equally awesome dad. Your mom was sweet, super smart, adoringly quirky, quietly driven, fun and lovely. If you didn't get along with her, that was your problem. She had a terrific sense of humor and wasn't afraid to laugh at herself, which is a sign of strength and confidence. Your mom could more than keep up if she was the only girl among a group of boys, whether biking, running or rollerblading. Your mom was tough, made of grit, hard work, the good stuff. Most importantly, your mom was caring and kind. You will find strength in yourselves from knowing how the rest of the world felt about your mom. She cannot be replaced, yet she cannot be forgotten.
With Much Love,
- Allison & Bill King
