Condolence: Helen Stavros was a kind, wonderful woman who brought joy to all who met her. I remember her warm, friendly nature and how she patiently instructed me how to make Greek dishes like spanakopita and chicken avgolemono. (This was at a time in my life when I could barely boil an egg.) Helen was a very giving person - I still have the cookbook "Aphrodite's Kitchen: Homestyle Greek Cooking" which she gave me decades ago. Lucia and I both use the baklava recipe in this book. I also remember her kind visits when Lucia was young. It was so wonderful to have "Yia-Yia" to help with the family! Helen, you touched someone many lives.
