BARON, Robert W. of Revere, 86, formerly of Winchester, passed away after a short illness on June 2, 2018. Bob was born and raised in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Ethel (Johnson) Baron. He was a 1949 graduate of Maine Township High School in Park Ridge, Illinois. He earned the Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Public Relations from Boston University School of Communications in 1953 and 1954, respectively. Subsequently, he worked at advertising and marketing agencies in Chicago, Providence, RI, and New York before joining Triangle Communications in Boston as an Advertising Representative for Seventeen Magazine, eventually becoming the magazine’s New England Advertising Sales Manager. He is survived by his daughter Dr. Lisa J. Baron of East Boston, and his son William R. Baron and wife Barbara (Carroll) Baron of Milford. Bob is the proud grandfather of Emily and Lindsay Baron of Milford. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Pauline M. (McCarthy), originally of Fall River.
Bob served in the US Army as a recruiter stationed in Denver, CO. He and Pauline raised their family in Winchester, MA. After retirement, he volunteered at Alcoholics Anonymous for 30 years and at Trinity
Episcopal Church in Melrose.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Melrose on Friday, June 8th at 10 am.
