Obituary for Pauline Shanahan (McCarty)

SHANAHAN, Pauline (McCarty) died peacefully surrounded by family on April 27 at the age of 95. Born in Medford, MA to James and Edith McCarty. She is pre-deceased by her six siblings. She is also predeceased by her loving husband, Jack, of over 50 years. They raised their family of three boys in Winchester and spent more than 20 years enjoying retirement in Yarmouth Port. They enjoyed many years playing golf and socializing with their friends at Cummaquid Golf Club. What she enjoyed most, however, was spending time with family. She is survived by her sons, John and his wife Diane of Methuen, Richard and his wife Nan of Winchester, and David and his wife Maureen of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral will be held from the Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. (Rte. 38) WINCHESTER, on Monday April 30th at 9am. Followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-6pm. Interment Wildwood Cemetery Winchester.
