Regina M  Cantella

CANTELLA, Regina M. (Mitchell) passed away peacefully under hospice care in her home she loved on December 30 2017. Beloved wife of Michael J. Cantella for 58 years. Loving mother to Regina Campbell and her husband Jan Pechenik and Mary Ellen Croteau and her husband David Croteau, all of Winchester. Devoted Nana to Anna and Sarah Campbell and Michael, Emily and Isabel Croteau. Regina was predeceased by her parents Regina (Marnell) and John Mitchell as well as her brothers John and Robert Mitchell.

Regina was born in Boston MA on June 16 1932, lived in Medford and graduated from Malden Catholic HS in 1950. She received a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition from Regis College in 1954 and a Master of Education from Tufts University in 1956. After teaching Home Economics at Wilmington HS, she took an 18-year maternity leave and resumed her career for 15 years as Director of Cambridge/Somerville WIC Program where she earned the first award for Best MA WIC Director. She enjoyed spending summers on the beaches of Marthas Vineyard and Cape Cod with her family.

Regina will be remembered for her genuine nature, inner strength, inspirational leadership and endless kindness to family, friends and everyone she met.

Visitation will be held at Lane Funeral Home, 760 Main St. Winchester, Jan 7th from 2-5pm and Jan 8th Mass at St. Eulalia Church will be at 10am followed by Interment at Wildwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
