Steve Geckeler, David's Junior Resident, debate partner, student government colleague and friends while at Wooster.
David was the kind of person others knew they could trust and who would be authentic with them in friendship. His keen mind and sensitive heart seemed transparent. He was articulate and passionate about the causes in which he believed. He had a gentle faith that did not settle for platitudes. I regret not being closer since Wooster. I knew David only when he was young--at Wooster. He was a wonderful young man--bright, a smiling presence, a great sense of humor. He was a leader in our small College community. And, when I met him in Cambridge, then Boston some time later, he seemed much unchanged. I am proud to have counted him a friend all those years ago.
