Hugene“Gene” R. Collum, 81, passed away on Monday, July 24th in Winchester, MA while listening to his favorite singer, Frank Sinatra and stories of past adventures from his daughter, Tracey Toombs. Gene enjoyed reading, watching sports (Red Sox and Patriots were his favorites) and spending time with his family. He spent most Sundays having brunch with his daughter and granddaughter, Megan, watching the game and QVC in the off season. Hugene retired from Honeywell as an engineer and in his later years worked at Mahoney's Rocky Ledge in WInchester in the plant department.

Survivors include his daughter, Tracey and her husband Robert as well as his favorite person, his granddaughter, Megan. She had him wrapped around her finger and it was the role of her Papa that he cherished the most. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Hickey), parents, Hugh and Alice “Tootie” (Off), sister Joyce and brother Dennis.
A funeral service will be held in the Lane Funeral Home 760 Main St. Winchester on Friday July 28th at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday July 27th from 3:00 to 7:00PM. Interment in Wildwood Cemetery Winchester. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Gene was a supporter of the United Way.
