Condolence: SUSAN! What a truly remarkable, highly talented, vigorously devoted person. I loved learning about kindness from her while working in Johannesburg and seeing how thrilled she was to continue on to Botswana with Doug for an adventure to mark her 70th birthday. Susan had style and verve. She and I shared a deep devotion to the same causes, particularly food sovereignty and security. Her radio station and interviews will be a lasting resource to people who care about an in-depth approach to those topics. Susan and I hoped to continue our strategic work on agricultural investment. She was excited about Tom's opportunities at JPL. She did not give up on her work and caring - ever - over the long 11 months of suffering. Even at the end, she told me how she laid on the floor in meetings with her bandana and red shoes. May her spirit of incisive intelligence, kindness, love and generosity live on in the lives of Doug and Tom and her whole family and community of friends.
